History of April 30

1789 - George Washington inaugurated as 1st president of the US
1798 - Department of the Navy established.
1803 - US more than doubles its size thru the Louisiana Purchase.
1857 - founding of what would be San Jose State University.
1869 - the Hawaiian YMCA organized.
1939 - NBC makes 1st US demo of TV at opening of NY World's Fair.
